The Cornish language, even older than English, is spoken by the Cornish people in Cornwall, a ceremonial county in the southwest of the U.K. It was a language that dominated Cornwall before being pushed away by the use of English.

Did you know? A thorn or a bramble in Cornish is known as ‘Dumbledore’, incorporated into modern English meaning bumblebee, inspiring the name of JK Rowling’s famous professor in the Harry Potter series.
